BMW has detailed the specifications and pricing for the i3 electric sedan, built on the Neue Klasse platform. The vehicle will launch in the US market early next year. The model offers a range of up to 750 km under the EPA cycle and 912 km under the WLTP cycle.

The car features sixth-generation cylindrical battery cells, which increase energy density by 20% compared to previous prismatic versions. Using a 400 kW fast charger, the vehicle can add 423 km of range in ten minutes. The powertrain combines a 322 hp rear motor and a 165 hp front motor, delivering a total of 463 hp and 647 Nm of torque.

The i3 supports bidirectional charging for external power supply and grid interaction. The interior includes a 17.9-inch central display, a head-up display compatible with polarized glasses, and haptic-feedback steering wheel controls. The infotainment system runs on Android with over-the-air update support.

The BMW i3 50 xDrive will start at $61 500 in the US, excluding delivery fees. A sportier i3 M60 xDrive variant is scheduled for release in 2027, featuring distinct styling and performance upgrades, though its pricing has not yet been announced.
