BlackRock has increased its investment in Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, by purchasing an additional 123,472 shares. This transaction, valued at approximately $20 million, expands the firm's total holdings to 1.76 million shares.

The total value of BlackRock's position in the company is now estimated at around $280 million. This acquisition was made through the iShares ETF portfolio managed by the asset manager.

Strategy, led by executive chairman Michael Saylor, maintains a dual business model. It operates as a software company while functioning as a corporate Bitcoin treasury, holding the largest reserves of the cryptocurrency globally.

Institutional investors, including Capital International and Vanguard, are also among the major shareholders of Strategy. The company's structure allows funds restricted to equity securities to gain indirect exposure to Bitcoin.

BlackRock continues to build its Bitcoin exposure through multiple channels. In addition to its equity stake in Strategy, the firm manages IBIT, one of the largest spot Bitcoin ETFs currently available on the market.
