Bitwise Asset Management has announced the closure of its Dogecoin exchange-traded fund, known as BWOW, less than a year after its initial launch on November 25, 2025. The company stated that the decision aims to optimize its current product lineup to better align with changing investor requirements.

According to official fund data, the ETF held approximately $688 000 in net assets as of September 9, 2026. The final day of trading for the fund on the NYSE Arca exchange is scheduled for October 14, 2026. The firm will cease the creation of new shares before the market opens on October 15.

Following the cessation of trading, Bitwise will convert the fund's Dogecoin holdings into cash. Shareholders will receive payouts based on the net asset value of their holdings as of October 21. These distributions are expected to be processed automatically through brokers and financial intermediaries on or around October 22.
