BitGo CEO Mike Belshe stated at the Token2049 Singapore conference that digital assets are integrating into the mainstream financial system independently of US legislative actions. The event, held from October 7 to 8, serves as a platform for discussing regulatory impacts on institutional crypto strategies.
The company is prioritizing the Asia-Pacific region, with its Singapore trading desk now serving as the largest in its global network. This expansion follows the acquisition of a Major Payment Institution license in 2024, which led to a tripling of the regional client base and a more than twofold increase in staff.
In the first half of 2026, BitGo reported that its trading volumes in the APAC region more than doubled. On October 6, the firm entered a strategic partnership with HashKey Cloud, covering staking, trading, custody, and the tokenization of real-world assets.
BitGo is shifting its business model to focus on prime brokerage services. The company aims to transition its revenue structure to rely entirely on prime brokerage activities, moving away from a dependence on standalone custody fees.
