On September 24, 2026, Bitget security systems detected unauthorized transfers from a subset of its hot wallets. The company estimated the total value of the affected assets at approximately $351.6 million.

CEO Gracy Chen stated that customer balances remain secure, with the platform's User Protection Fund covering the incident. The fund currently holds 5,500 BTC, valued at roughly $464 million.

While trading and deposits remain operational, the exchange has temporarily suspended withdrawals to conduct security checks. Chen confirmed that the Bitget Wallet, which operates on an independent infrastructure, was not impacted.

The company is currently working with security experts from Mandiant and SlowMist to investigate the breach. Representatives have declined to speculate on the cause of the incident until the investigation is complete.
