Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, is celebrating its eighth anniversary. Chief Legal Officer Hon Ng released an open letter detailing the platform's evolution from a derivatives exchange to a Universal Exchange (UEX) serving over 125 million users.

The platform has expanded its Proof of Reserves program, increasing coverage from four to 19 assets. As of September 2026, the 46th consecutive report showed a total reserve ratio of 135%, with the average ratio consistently remaining above 120%.

Bitget maintains a Protection Fund established in 2022. The fund, which had an initial commitment of $300 million, held an average valuation of approximately $382 million in August 2026 to provide financial safeguards for users.

The company has implemented a Market Integrity and Token Accountability Framework to monitor listed assets and market makers. This system allows for risk warnings, account freezes, or delisting in cases of suspicious trading activity or market manipulation.

Bitget operates across multiple jurisdictions, including Argentina, Australia, Switzerland, and the UK. The company is collaborating with BlockSec on a UEX Security Standard to manage risks associated with tokenized stocks, commodities, and crypto assets.
