Bitcoin Suisse is reducing its Swiss workforce by up to 60 positions, which accounts for approximately half of its 120 employees in the country. The company announced the restructuring on September 11, 2026, as part of a strategic shift toward becoming a global wealth manager.
The firm is relocating administrative, back-office, and software development roles to new hubs in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Vietnam. Additionally, the company is closing its IT development office in Copenhagen. Client-facing staff and the headquarters in Zug will remain in Switzerland.
CEO Andrej Majcen stated that the restructuring is intended to support international growth rather than respond to market conditions. The company currently manages over $3 billion in digital assets and maintains a global headcount of approximately 200 people.
Founded in 2013, the company is expanding its regulatory footprint beyond Switzerland, having secured licenses in jurisdictions including Liechtenstein, Bermuda, and Abu Dhabi. This move aims to target high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients globally.
