According to a Glassnode report published on October 7, 2026, Bitcoin attracted approximately $4.9 billion in fresh capital during the 30-day period ending October 5. This inflow includes investments from US spot Bitcoin ETFs, stablecoin supply growth, and corporate treasury acquisitions.
During the same timeframe, Bitcoin’s realized capitalization increased by about $12.8 billion. New capital accounted for less than two-fifths of this total growth, indicating that the majority of valuation gains resulted from existing holders trading coins among themselves at higher prices.
On October 4, Bitcoin reached a milestone with its first daily close above $85,000. Data shows that 86 percent of exchange inflows on that day originated from short-term holders who were realizing profits, suggesting a reliance on internal selling rather than external demand.
Trading volume remains subdued, with combined spot and ETF activity averaging $6.8 billion per day over the past week. This level is lower than approximately 90 percent of trading days recorded since January 2024, signaling potential vulnerability to market corrections.
Glassnode identified two conditions for the rally to regain momentum. The price must sustain two daily closes above the True Market Mean of $76,700, and the growth in realized capitalization must be driven by increased spot demand and ETF inflows rather than internal trading.
