Bitcoin is currently trading 35% below its record peak of $126,000. Analyst Root, author of the Bitcoin Strategy newsletter, suggests that the asset could reclaim this all-time high by June 2027. This projection is based on a comparison of current market recovery patterns with three previous cycles from 2015, 2018, and 2022.

The current market cycle shows a 52% decline from the October 2025 peak to a 2026 low of approximately $60,000. In previous bear markets, Bitcoin experienced value losses ranging from 77% to 85%. Due to this shallower decline, the asset requires a 2x price increase from its bottom to reach a new record, a move historically completed within about a year.

Analyst Philarekt utilizes a three-week chart showing Bitcoin trading within an ascending channel since 2021. According to this model, the next all-time high target is $170,000. The projected path indicates that Bitcoin could surpass the $126,000 level by mid-2027, with the full cycle peak expected in 2028.

Several factors could influence this recovery timeline. Binance Research notes that in four out of five past cases, rebounds retested their lows. Additionally, some analysts, including Willy Woo, suggest that Bitcoin might shift away from its traditional four-year cycle toward a longer rhythm influenced by traditional finance and rising interest rates.
