Bitcoin is currently consolidating around the $82,500 support level following a dip to $80,350 on Thursday. Market data indicates that 24-hour crypto liquidations have exceeded $1 billion, while spot prices are encountering liquidity resistance near the $84,000 mark.
The market recovery coincides with a rebound in US technology stocks. Analysts suggest that the recent sell-off in AI-linked tech shares, which impacted the Nasdaq Composite Index after OpenAI released weaker earnings projections, may require more time to stabilize before a full recovery occurs.
Investors are also monitoring reports of security exploits involving Ledger hardware wallets. Ledger attributed the incidents to a Southeast Asian reseller named CryptoBillis and advised users to migrate assets to new signers. This follows recent security concerns involving Coldcard wallets earlier this summer.
Research from Bitfinex Alpha suggests that Bitcoin will likely trade within a range of $81,300 to $86,500 until October 14. This period of consolidation is expected to persist until the release of new US inflation data, with traders anticipating repeated tests of the $84,000 level.
