Investors holding Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the United States have returned to profitability for the first time since January. According to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart, the recent market rally pushed the average investor above the estimated cost basis of $81,720.
The price of Bitcoin recently reached $86,772, following a daily high of $86,837. This growth occurred despite the Federal Reserve raising interest rates and the blocking of the Clarity Act legislation. Currently, the asset remains more than 30% below its all-time high of $126,080 recorded last year.
Institutional interest remains active, with U.S. Bitcoin ETFs managed by firms such as BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, and Morgan Stanley recording net positive flows exceeding $6 million last week. Data from Farside Investors indicates that on Thursday and Friday alone, investors contributed nearly $593 million into these products.
The total assets under management for these Bitcoin ETFs have reached $98.8 billion, as reported by Coinglass. These financial vehicles, approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2024, allow investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin price movements through traditional stock exchanges without managing private keys.
