Bitcoin has formed a daily Golden Cross, with the 50-day SMA crossing above the 200-day SMA. This is the first such signal since the Death Cross of November 2025. Historically, this setup has often preceded significant rallies in the asset's price.
Analysts at BloFin Research emphasize that while the daily signal is bullish, long-term confirmation is still missing. Bitcoin is currently trading above its 200-week moving average (200W MA), which has historically served as a marker for cycle lows, but it remains below the 50-week moving average (50W MA).
The 50W MA is viewed as a stronger test of a new trend. In past cycles, Bitcoin reclaimed this average in 2015, 2019, and 2023, leading to longer-term uptrends. Conversely, losing this level in 2014, 2018, late 2021, and late 2025 marked the end of bull markets.
BloFin notes a trade-off for traders: waiting for a weekly close above the 50W MA provides stronger evidence of a trend reversal, but it may mean missing the initial part of the rebound from the cycle low.
