Bitcoin is currently up 7.33% for September, positioning it to potentially record its best performance for the month in the history of the Coinglass price tracker. This follows a trend of positive September returns in 2023, 2024, and 2025, marking a potential four-year streak of growth for the month.

The month saw significant volatility, including a failed Senate vote on the Clarity Act and a Federal Reserve interest rate hike of 25 basis points to a range of 3.75%–4%. Following these events, Bitcoin experienced a dip to approximately $75,000, while spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded outflows of $450.4 million on September 15.

Market sentiment shifted as spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $2.98 billion over seven sessions, including nearly $1 billion on September 21. This surge led to over $800 million in short liquidations and pushed Bitcoin to a high of $87,354. The asset has since corrected to around $83,000.

Technical indicators remain bullish, with the Average Directional Index at 42.3 and the Relative Strength Index at 61.2. A golden cross pattern, where the 50-day moving average exceeds the 200-day, is also present. To maintain the monthly record, Bitcoin must close above approximately $83,600.

Despite the monthly gains, Bitcoin remains roughly 4.4% below its year-opening price of approximately $87,497. Investors are now looking toward upcoming Federal Reserve meetings scheduled for October 27–28 and December 8–9, as historical data shows varied performance in the final quarter.
