In August, the KGST stablecoin, pegged to the som, ranked among the top three most traded tokens for new Binance users in Kyrgyzstan. The exchange reported these results on September 5 during a meeting of the National Council for the Development of Virtual Assets and Blockchain Technologies.

Binance launched trading for the national stablecoin in December 2025. The token operates across three blockchains with zero trading fees for KGST/USDT and KGST/U pairs. The exchange manages smart contracts, audits, and on-chain issuance and burning operations.

Binance reported that its educational initiatives in Kyrgyzstan reached over 10,000 people. Programs include a university tour with 5,000 participants, a student league with 1,000 members, and an online course with 500 students. Additionally, 200 articles have been published in Kyrgyz.

The exchange plans to integrate a financial literacy course into the Mega platform, which serves over 2 million users, by the end of the year. Educational programs and the student league will continue their operations.

President Sadyr Japarov instructed the National Bank to develop and test a digital som platform by December 31, 2026, with real-world testing starting in 2027. The National Agency for Virtual Assets must adopt regulations and launch a licensing pilot by January 1, 2027.
