Binance has committed $100 million to acquire shares of Circle, with each share priced at $80.84. The agreement includes a lockup period of up to two years for these shares. This strategic investment aims to accelerate the global adoption of the USDC stablecoin, particularly in emerging markets where it competes with Tether.

Under the five-year commercial partnership, Binance will actively promote USDC across its platform. In return, Circle will provide Binance with monthly incentive fees based on the volume of USDC balances held by users on the exchange. This structure aligns the financial interests of both companies regarding the growth of the stablecoin.

The deal follows Circle's recent launch of the Arc blockchain mainnet, which features native USDC integration and support for transactions involving AI agents. Binance has already enabled support for USDC deposits on this new network, further deepening the technical and commercial ties between the two entities.

Circle is simultaneously expanding its payment infrastructure through the acquisition of the Singapore-based platform Tazapay. This move is expected to connect Circle with over 60 banking and fintech partners across more than 100 payout markets, complementing its existing strategy of leveraging regulated financial institutions.

Currently, USDC has approximately $75 billion in circulation, while Tether’s USDT holds a market presence of about $183 billion. By integrating USDC into the massive user base of Binance, Circle intends to challenge Tether's dominance in international crypto trading and payment ecosystems.
