Binance has expanded the utility of its bStocks tokenized equity line by allowing regular users and VIP 0-2 tier accounts to use these assets as collateral for Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin trading. Previously, this functionality was restricted to users with VIP 3 status or higher.
The updated policy, effective September 21, 2026, requires new participants to complete a suitability questionnaire. Binance will also implement ongoing monitoring of liquidity and positions for these users to mitigate liquidation risks. Borrowing bStocks for short-selling remains unavailable.
bStocks are BEP-20 tokens on the BNB Smart Chain providing 1:1 exposure to US equities and ETFs, with underlying shares held by custodians under ADGM/FSRA regulation. Holders receive price exposure and corporate action support, though they lack direct voting rights.
Since launching on June 11, 2026, the product has seen significant growth. Cumulative trading volume exceeded $30 billion within 90 days, and assets under management reached $500 million by late July 2026. Eligible assets include tokens for Tesla and NVIDIA.
