Binance is introducing 24/7 perpetual futures for foreign exchange, starting with a US dollar-Brazilian real contract. The new product, USDBRLUSDT, launches on September 21 and offers leverage up to 100x with settlement in USDT.
The platform utilizes a dual-mode pricing system to maintain continuous trading. During standard market hours, prices follow a weighted index from third-party providers. On weekends and holidays, the system switches to an orderbook-based mechanism using an exponentially weighted moving average.
This move follows recent activity from competitors. Bybit recently launched 24/7 perpetuals for EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/JPY with 100x leverage. Kraken has offered FX perpetuals with up to 50x leverage since April 2025, alongside spot FX trading available since 2020.
The global over-the-counter foreign exchange market remains the largest financial sector, with daily turnover averaging $9,6 trillion in April 2025. Binance aims to provide traders with tools for hedging and price discovery outside of traditional banking hours.
