Speaking at TOKEN2049 in Singapore, Binance CEO Richard Teng identified insufficient information flow as the primary obstacle for tokenized private market products. While demand for these assets remains high, the lack of timely disclosures for private companies complicates valuation for investors compared to public equities.
Binance launched its bStocks product in June 2026, offering tokenized US stocks and ETFs backed 1:1 by underlying assets. These tokens support 24/7 trading and DeFi integration. Data shows that 47% of trading volume for certain Binance stock-referenced products occurs outside traditional market hours.
The broader tokenized stock market reached over $3 billion in on-chain value by September 2026. BNB Chain accounts for approximately $1 billion of this total and reports 1.8 million holders. Binance Research forecasts the sector could expand to roughly $349 billion by 2030, following a projected 390% growth in 2026.
Teng emphasized that the future of finance lies in programmable, always-on assets. However, he noted that the next phase of industry development depends on solving disclosure challenges rather than simply increasing token issuance, as current gaps between trading speed and information availability create risks for investors.
