The Bi.Zone ZTNA platform now supports the Rutoken OTP hardware token, allowing users to perform two-factor authentication without a smartphone. The device, developed by Aktiv, features a screen and a button to generate TOTP codes autonomously.

To set up the token, users scan a QR code provided by the Bi.Zone ZTNA client via the Aktiv application, which transfers the secret key to the token via NFC. Once initialized, the device generates codes independently, removing the need for personal mobile devices in secure environments.

The integration does not require additional configuration on the Bi.Zone ZTNA side, as the system processes these codes like standard TOTP authenticators. The solution is compatible with all operating systems supported by the ZTNA client.

Bi.Zone and Aktiv intend to expand support for other products in the Rutoken line in the future. The Bi.Zone ZTNA solution itself is officially included in the unified register of Russian software.
