Bentley Motors is preparing to unveil its first electric vehicle, the Torcal, on September 23 at 19:19. The model will be hand-assembled on a newly constructed production line at the company's headquarters in Crewe. This facility is located within a renovated building that dates back to 1938 and previously served as a research and development workshop.

The new production line is part of a £350 million self-funded investment across the Crewe site. The assembly process utilizes autonomous guided vehicles to transport vehicles between stations, requiring a specially leveled floor. The Torcal joins the existing Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga model lines currently manufactured at the location.

The vehicle development benefits from a new design studio opened in 2025, also housed in a renovated 1938 building. Bentley emphasizes local production, sourcing materials such as wool for the cabin from British suppliers like Fox Brothers. The Crewe site employs over 4,000 people and spans a total area of 521,111 square meters.

The upcoming reveal event is expected to provide full technical specifications and pricing details for the Torcal. This launch marks the fourth model line for the automaker and serves as a test for the company's electric vehicle strategy. The project highlights Bentley's commitment to keeping engineering and assembly operations in-house.
