Italian technology firm Bending Spoons has announced its intent to acquire the collaboration platform Miro for $1.4 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of the year. This deal follows the company's recent acquisition of the cloud platform Airtable.
Miro currently serves nearly 4 million paying users, including over 750 enterprise customers that generate more than $100,000 in annual recurring revenue. The platform is utilized by major corporations such as Accenture, Cisco, Deloitte, and HP for strategy development and product design.
Bending Spoons CEO Luca Ferrari stated that the company intends to invest significantly in Miro’s core infrastructure, specifically focusing on reliability, performance, and functionality. Miro co-founder Andrey Khusid noted that the partnership aims to further develop the platform's AI-driven workspace capabilities.
Bending Spoons has been actively expanding its portfolio, which already includes companies like AOL, Eventbrite, and Vimeo. The firm also announced plans to go public in June and completed its stock market listing in July.
