Beehiiv, a platform for creators, has announced a price increase for its subscription plans. CEO Tyler Denk stated that the additional revenue will support further development of the platform's core features. This adjustment marks the second time the company has updated its pricing structure in its five-year history.
The mid-range plan, now renamed Lite, will see a price increase of at least $10 per month. For users with up to 10 000 subscribers, the monthly cost rises from $109 to $139. The Pro plan, formerly known as Max, will now cost $239 per month for the same subscriber tier, up from the previous rate of $219.
Despite these changes, creators with fewer than 2 500 subscribers retain access to the platform for free. The announcement has drawn criticism from some users on social media platforms like Bluesky, Threads, and Reddit. Critics point to concerns regarding ad rates, sponsor availability, and the absence of specific features like video podcast support.
Some publishers noted that the new pricing model may be less viable for those outside the United States or those who do not charge subscription fees. Beehiiv continues to market its integrated ad network, website personalization tools, and community-building features as key components of its service offering.
