Bambu Lab has officially introduced the R1 laser cutter, which features a 55W CO2 laser. The device is designed for cutting various materials, including wood, acrylic, fabric, and leather. It is capable of cutting through 18mm black walnut plywood or 20mm acrylic in a single pass.

The R1 includes advanced features such as automatic optical path calibration, active vibration compensation, and a triple positioning system. The machine is equipped with dual cameras, dual LiDAR sensors, and dual encoders, achieving a positioning accuracy of 0.2mm. It supports rotary axis processing and edge-following cutting.

For extended projects, the cutter can process materials up to 3 meters long when paired with a roller feeder. The unit features a built-in touchscreen for calibration and diagnostics, and it automatically identifies official materials to set parameters without manual input.

The machine incorporates a through-type air duct to remove smoke and particles. It can be connected to the E1 Pro air purifier to manage fumes and odors. The R1 holds a Class 1 laser safety certification, allowing operation without protective eyewear or specialized workspaces.
