Baikal Electronics has expanded its Baikal-U microcontroller series, with the new devices now included in the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade's registry of electronic products. The microcontrollers utilize the open RISC-V architecture and incorporate domestic IP cores from CloudBEAR.
The flagship model, Baikal BE-U1000, features three cores running at 200 MHz and is designed as a functional equivalent to the STM32F4xx–F7xx series. It includes hardware blocks for motor control and is housed in a QFN88 package.
The company has introduced four specialized modifications: the bare-die BE-U1000 for hybrid assemblies, the BE-U1100 in a QFN48 package for industrial automation, the BE-U1200 for IoT and smart metering, and the BE-U1300 for telecommunications and medical equipment.
These new models are currently available for order in unlimited quantities. According to CEO Andrey Evdokimov, the expansion aims to provide developers with a technologically independent and secure alternative to foreign architectures.
