Awekeys has unveiled a new line of shine-through metal keycaps designed for full-height MX-style mechanical switches. These accessories are manufactured from recycled cupronickel alloy and will be offered in six distinct colors, including gold, copper, silver, titanium black, obsidian black, and a glow-in-the-dark neon option.
The product will be available in both brushed and satin finishes, with specific combinations planned for release. The keycaps follow an OEM profile and support both ISO and ANSI keyboard layouts. Awekeys intends to launch the collection through a Kickstarter campaign, offering three different kit configurations to early backers.
The base 83-key kit will be priced at $169, the 98-key kit at $199, and the full-size 116-key set at $229. Following the conclusion of the crowdfunding campaign, the manufacturer plans to increase the retail prices to $269, $319, and $369 respectively for the corresponding kits.
