AWE Network has announced that the migration window for legacy STPT tokens to the new AWE token will officially close on September 21, 2026. Holders who fail to complete the swap by this date will lose the ability to convert their assets, as no extensions or late-swap options will be available.
The migration process has been active since May 2025, following the rebranding of STP Network to AWE Network. Currently, over 99% of the total supply, which amounts to approximately 1.94 billion tokens, has already been successfully converted. The swap is conducted at a 1:1 ratio.
Most major centralized exchanges, including Binance and Bitget, have already performed bulk conversions for their users. Those holding STPT in self-custody wallets must manually use the official AWE Network portal to complete the swap before the deadline.
Following the September 21 cutoff, the fate of any remaining unconverted AWE tokens will be determined by a community governance vote. Options under consideration include burning the tokens, redistributing them, or locking them away.
The transition from STP Network to AWE Network marks a strategic shift toward developing infrastructure for Autonomous Worlds, AI agents, and decentralized collaboration. As part of this move, the governance token migrated from the Ethereum blockchain to the Base network.
