AvtoVAZ plans to launch a significantly modernized version of the Lada Niva Travel in 2029. According to reports from the RCI News Telegram channel, the updated vehicle will feature a redesigned interior and an extended rear overhang.
The modification to the rear body section aims to increase the cargo capacity of the SUV. The current model measures 4099 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2450 mm. The manufacturer intends to expand the trunk space while maintaining the existing wheelbase and primary vehicle layout.
While specific details regarding the interior upgrades remain undisclosed, the update is expected to include changes to the dashboard, ergonomics, trim materials, and the infotainment system. Current high-end versions of the Niva Travel are equipped with the Lada EnjoY Pro system featuring a 7-inch touchscreen and Yandex Auto services.
The Niva Travel has been in production since December 2020, though its design roots trace back to the Chevrolet Niva, which debuted in 2002. The vehicle has undergone several updates over the years, including the introduction of a 1.8-liter engine with 90 hp. Current prices for the model range from 1.419 ₽ million to 1.814 ₽ million.
