Avatr's new flagship SUV, the T09, has appeared in Chinese regulatory filings as a plug-in hybrid. The vehicle is backed by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, and is expected to launch by the end of the year.

The T09 measures 5,285 mm in length, 2,025 mm in width, and 3,150 mm in wheelbase. It features a 6-seat layout and is available in two powertrain configurations. The top-spec version combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine (155 kW) with three motors: a 180 kW front motor and two 225 kW rear motors.

A second configuration uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine (110 kW) and two motors (180 kW and 310 kW). Both versions use ternary lithium batteries from a CATL subsidiary in Sichuan. The T09 is equipped with a 71.24-kWh battery pack, providing an electric range of 300-330 km.

The SUV is expected to integrate Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 system with a new hardware architecture and four LiDAR sensors. Avatr vice president Yong Jun stated that this model will be the company's first truly comprehensive collaboration with Huawei.

The T09 will compete with the Aito M9, Li L9, Denza N9, and IM LS9. This launch is critical for Avatr, which sold 35,250 vehicles in the first seven months of this year, averaging approximately 5,040 units per month.
