California-based startup Autonomy is expanding its vehicle subscription service by adding internal combustion engine models to its fleet. The company is partnering with Los Angeles-based Galpin Motors to offer Ford vehicles, including the Mustang, Ranger, F-150, Bronco Sport, Escape, and Explorer.

The service is currently available in California, Arizona, Florida, Texas, New York, North Carolina, and Washington. Autonomy plans to collaborate with additional dealer partners in these regions to scale its operations.

Autonomy previously aimed to acquire 23 000 electric vehicles from 17 manufacturers but currently maintains a fleet of slightly over 500 electric cars. The company faced significant financial challenges following an EV price war that reduced the value of its existing fleet by approximately one-third.

The subscription model requires a one-time fee, currently set at $1 000 for electric vehicles, followed by a monthly payment. Customers can cancel their subscription after one month. The company is targeting university students, military families, foreign workers, and individuals seeking corporate vehicle access.
