Jeremy Klaperman has been appointed as the interim Chief Financial Officer of Automattic. He previously served in this role while former CFO Mark Davies was on sabbatical. Klaperman currently leads the company’s WordPress VIP Enterprise business unit.

The leadership changes follow the recent departure of several executives, including Mark Davies and Chief Legal Officer Andy Missan. These exits occurred after a failed attempt to remove CEO Matt Mullenweg, which also led to the departure of the board members involved in the vote.

Mullenweg confirmed that a new candidate has verbally accepted the Chief Legal Officer position. The company is currently evaluating both internal and external candidates for the permanent CFO role, while the board of directors is undergoing a restructuring process.

Despite recent management shifts, Mullenweg stated that the company remains in a stable financial position. Stephen Wolfram will continue to serve as a special advisor to the firm. The next board meeting is scheduled to take place on September 23.
