Audi has introduced a new incentive program for current electric vehicle lessees in the United States. The initiative, detailed in a memo sent to dealerships on September 1, aims to encourage customers to purchase their vehicles at the end of their lease terms.
The program offers specific discounts based on the model. Lessees of the Audi e-tron GT can receive a $10 000 discount. For the Q4 e-tron, the incentive has been increased to $5 000 from the previous $3 000, while the Q8 e-tron qualifies for a $4 000 discount.
Beyond direct consumer incentives, Audi is providing dealerships with a $500 bonus for each successful buyout transaction. This strategy follows significant depreciation observed in the resale value of premium electric vehicles, where some models have seen their market prices drop substantially.
For instance, original RS e-tron GT models that once retailed for approximately $140 000 are now available for under $55 000. Similarly, the 2025 RS e-tron GT Performance has seen its market price fall from over $170 000 to less than $120 000.
