Audi and SAIC Launch Joint R&D Hub in Shanghai

Audi and SAIC Motor have launched the AITC research center in Shanghai to jointly develop four new electric models based on the ADP 2.0 platform.

The AITC center will employ approximately 300 specialists. Matthias Pfister will serve as general manager, with Shan Yunwei appointed as deputy general manager. The facility focuses on smart EV technologies, including AI cockpits, vehicle dynamics, and advanced driver-assistance systems.

The joint venture is owned by SAIC, Audi, and Volkswagen Group China, with stakes of 49%, 41%, and 10% respectively. The center will also develop software-defined and AI-defined vehicles to support the brand's expansion in the Chinese market.
