AT&T has officially acknowledged cellular connectivity issues affecting some iPhone 18 Pro Max units in the US. The operator is advising users to install the iOS 27.0.1 update to address problems with calls, SMS, and data, including potential failures in reaching emergency services.
Despite the update, thousands of users on platforms like Reddit and MacRumors report that the issues persist. While the iOS 27.0.1 update includes a modem firmware upgrade from version 2.10.01 to 2.10.04, it does not explicitly mention cellular fixes in the official release notes.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max in the US is the only model in the current lineup using a Qualcomm modem, while other versions utilize Apple's proprietary C2 modem. It remains unclear if the hardware choice is directly linked to the connectivity failures reported by AT&T subscribers.
Apple has not yet confirmed the root cause of the malfunctions. While some retail store staff are offering device replacements, they warn that this may not resolve the issue if the fault lies in software or network compatibility. Further updates from Apple and AT&T are pending.
