Asus has opened pre-orders for the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a 20th-anniversary edition handheld console, in the United States. The device is priced at $1,299.99, which is $300 more than the standard ROG Xbox Ally X. The official market launch is scheduled for October 15.

The X20 features a 7.4-inch ROG Nebula HDR OLED display with a resolution of 1920x1080, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1400 nits. It supports Dolby Vision and FreeSync Premium Pro. The device retains the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and an 80Wh battery.

Control upgrades include TMR magnetic sensor joysticks designed to reduce mechanical wear and drift, and a 'Transforming D-pad' that switches between four-way and eight-way modes. The chassis features a translucent black design with gold accents, improved ergonomics with a rubberized grip, and a redesigned cooling system.

Connectivity options include a USB4 port compatible with Thunderbolt 4, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, and a microSD Express card slot. Both USB ports support DisplayPort 2.1 output. The device is also available as part of a $2,499.99 bundle that includes ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 AR glasses and accessories.
