Asus has opened pre-orders for the new ROG Rapture 8 gaming router on JD.com. The device is positioned as a flagship product, though the manufacturer has not yet disclosed its official retail price.
The router is powered by a Broadcom quad-core 2.6GHz processor and includes 2GB of DDR4 memory. It features eight external antennas arranged in a ring configuration to optimize signal distribution.
Connectivity options include two 10GbE RJ-45 ports, four 2.5GbE RJ-45 ports, one 1GbE RJ-45 port, and two USB ports. The device supports the Wi-Fi 8 standard, also known as 802.11bn.
The system operates across three frequency bands: 2.4GHz, 5GHz-1, and 5GHz-2. It delivers a combined theoretical throughput of 12904Mbps, categorized as BN13000, with specific speeds of 1376Mbps, 5764Mbps, and 5764Mbps respectively.
The implementation of 802.11bn technology aims to reduce interference and expand coverage. According to the manufacturer, this architecture doubles throughput at medium to long distances and improves signal stability for connected devices.
