ASUS is preparing to launch the ROG Rapture 8 gaming router in mainland China. The device shares a similar hardware foundation with its predecessor, the Rapture GT-BE96, while introducing support for the new 802.11bn wireless standard.
The router is powered by a Broadcom quad-core 2.6GHz processor and includes 2GB of DDR4 memory. It features eight external copper-tube antennas arranged in a ring. The device supports speeds of 1376Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 5764Mbps on each of the two 5GHz bands, totaling 12904Mbps.
Connectivity options include two 10GbE RJ-45 ports, four 2.5GbE RJ-45 ports, and one 1GbE RJ-45 port, alongside two USB ports. The integration of 802.11bn technology is designed to improve signal coverage and stability, specifically doubling throughput and signal reach for connected devices.
