A user reported that their ASUS TUF gaming monitor stopped a bullet that had penetrated the exterior wall of their home. The incident occurred while the user was playing Call of Duty.
The monitor, which features a 280Hz refresh rate, was purchased for $280. The owner noted that it was the best investment they have made for their setup, despite the damage sustained.
ASUS TUF products typically undergo MIL-STD-810H testing protocols, which include shock, drop, vibration, and environmental stress tests. However, bullet resistance is not part of these standard evaluations.
This is not the first instance of gaming hardware deflecting projectiles. Previous reports include a gaming PC case and a Razer headset that successfully blocked bullets after they passed through walls.
