Asus has updated the specifications for its XG Core external docking station, which features a low-profile Radeon RX 9060 XT LP 16GB graphics card. The device is designed for laptops, mini-PCs, and handheld consoles, connecting via a 40 Gbps USB-C interface.
The graphics card operates with a power consumption of 75 W, which is half that of the standard desktop version. The GPU features 2048 stream processors and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 20 Gbps speed and a 128-bit bus. The unit measures 144 by 117 by 39 mm.
The gaming frequency of the GPU is 1010 MHz, with a boost frequency of 1600 MHz. Using the Asus GPU Tweak III utility, these can be increased to 1030 MHz and 1620 MHz. These figures are significantly lower than the standard desktop model, which reaches 2450 MHz and 3050 MHz respectively.
The docking station includes HDMI 2.1b and DisplayPort 2.1a ports for connecting up to two external monitors. Asus notes that the device is intended for 1440p gaming at over 60 frames per second, though specific testing conditions were not disclosed.
Pricing and availability for the XG Core Radeon RX 9060 XT LP 16GB have not yet been announced by the manufacturer.
