ASUS has officially released the NUC 14 Essential Fanless, a compact desktop computer featuring a passive cooling system. The device is a variant of the standard NUC 14 Essential model, designed to operate without internal fans while maintaining a total volume of 0.74 liters.
The new unit is powered by Intel Twin Lake processors, specifically the N150 or N250 chips, both of which have a thermal design power of 6W. While the device retains the same length and width of 135 by 115 millimeters as the original version, its thickness has increased from 36 millimeters to 48.2 millimeters.
Regarding connectivity and expansion, the system includes one DDR5 SO-DIMM slot and two storage bays: one M.2 2280 PCIe slot and one M.2 2242 SATA slot. The hardware also supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and features a 2.5GbE RJ-45 Ethernet port for network connectivity.
