Astra Group has received a FSTEC certificate for Astra Flatpak, confirming its status as a containerization tool with the highest, first class of protection. The technology was introduced as part of the Astra Linux 1.8.6 update.
The solution utilizes a unified package format operating in an isolated environment. It integrates with Astra Linux security mechanisms, including mandatory access control, integrity checks, and a built-in vulnerability scanner for applications.
Management of repositories, launch policies, and user permissions is available via a graphical interface or command line. A dedicated utility simplifies package preparation for both software vendors and end customers.
The technology ensures cross-version compatibility of applications with various Astra Linux updates. This allows software developers to reduce testing efforts and enables organizations to run legacy applications on modern OS versions without additional modifications.
