Aston Martin has officially adjusted its electrification roadmap, pushing the launch of its first battery-electric vehicle to a window between 2033 and 2035. CEO Adrian Hallmark confirmed this shift during the opening of the new Q London showroom in Mayfair, noting that rapid changes in market conditions and regulatory requirements make a precise release date difficult to determine.
The company previously aimed to introduce its first electric model by 2027, with a subsequent delay to 2030. Under the revised strategy, Aston Martin will maintain its focus on internal combustion engines for the foreseeable future. The brand plans to continue production of its signature V8 and V12 engine models at least until 2035 to align with current UK and EU zero-emission mandates.
Hallmark emphasized that the decision to delay the transition is not a rejection of electric technology but a strategic adjustment to meet regulatory deadlines. By keeping combustion engines in the lineup until 2035, the manufacturer intends to ensure full compliance with regional environmental standards while managing its product portfolio transition effectively.
