ASRock has released a new vBIOS update, version 1.0.5, for ten models of its Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards. The update became available on the company support website on October 29. The list of supported hardware includes the RX 7600 XT Challenger and Steel Legend, RX 7700 XT Challenger, RX 7800 XT Challenger and Steel Legend, as well as the RX 7900 XT and XTX Phantom Gaming and Taichi variants.

Users can install the firmware using the ASRVBFlash utility on Windows. ASRock advises owners to verify their specific model on the official support page before proceeding with the update. Although the manufacturer did not provide a detailed changelog, the timing of the release aligns with security patches for RDNA 3 architecture previously issued by Sapphire and GIGABYTE.

The updates are linked to the AMD-SN-6023 identifier, which addresses potential security vulnerabilities. AMD has confirmed the existence of these vulnerabilities but noted that there are no reports of them being actively exploited. Despite the security focus, ASRock maintains a standard disclaimer on its website, advising users against updating the vBIOS if their graphics card is functioning normally.
