Arla Foods has expanded its electric vehicle fleet by adding four new DAF XD Electric trucks. These 6x2 rigid vehicles are equipped with 525-kWh batteries and 350-kW electric motors, providing a range of up to 550 kilometers. The company will deploy these trucks for the distribution of chilled dairy products across Denmark.

The expansion includes the installation of new charging infrastructure at the Arla depot in Hobro. PACCAR Power Solutions is providing a system with a total capacity of 480 kW, featuring six fast-charging points capable of delivering up to 400 kW each. Analysis suggests that overnight charging at the depot meets the majority of the company's transport requirements.

In addition to the electric models, Arla is integrating seven new DAF XD trucks powered by 330-kW MX-11 diesel engines into its fleet. All eleven new vehicles are covered by a DAF MultiSupport repair and maintenance contract. This follows the successful operation of three DAF XD Electric trucks that the company began using last year.
