ARK Invest is tokenizing its ARK Venture Fund by migrating it to the Ethereum blockchain in partnership with Securitize. The move, announced on September 24, allows eligible investors to access the fund's portfolio through digital tokens. The fund manages assets totaling approximately $1.3 billion.
The portfolio includes private companies that are not listed on public stock exchanges. As of August 31, 78% of the fund consisted of such assets, with SpaceX accounting for 7.54%, OpenAI for 5.26%, and Anthropic for 3.86%. The fund was originally launched in September 2022 with a minimum investment requirement of $500.
The fund operates as an interval fund, meaning share buybacks occur on a quarterly basis. ARK Invest notes that no secondary market is expected to emerge for these shares, and annual expenses are set at 2.9% after fee waivers. A September 21 SEC order permits the fund to offer a tokenized share class.
This tokenized class may be traded on alternative trading systems outside of traditional stock exchanges. Securitize previously tokenized the BlackRock BUIDL fund on Ethereum in March 2024. ARK Invest made a strategic investment in Securitize in October 2025, following a period of rapid growth for the fund's net assets.
