ARK Invest research director Lorenzo Valente analyzed activity on the Robinhood Chain, which launched on July 1, 2026. The study found that transactions through the Robinhood Wallet's primary swap mechanism, specifically the 0x Settler contract, accounted for only 0.5% of total on-chain volume.
Even when including unidentified contracts potentially linked to Robinhood, the company's share of total transactions reaches approximately 5%. This indicates that 95% of the network's volume is generated by external actors, primarily platforms like GMGN and OKX, rather than Robinhood's retail brokerage users.
Data from Dune Analytics reveals that 42% of transactions on the network occur through contracts with three or fewer unique users. Such activity patterns suggest a high prevalence of automated processes, including bots, arbitrage scripts, and cross-chain routing infrastructure.
The findings suggest that the network is being utilized by experienced crypto traders migrating to a new venue, rather than by retail users new to on-chain finance. Investors are advised to scrutinize future activity metrics reported by Robinhood, as high transaction counts may not reflect retail adoption.
