The Arduview handheld is built on the open-source Arduboy project, utilizing the Arduino platform. It is designed for DIY electronics tinkering and coding, allowing users to play hundreds of community-made 8-bit games.

The device features a fully transparent design, including the shell, PCB, and an OLED screen. According to founder Louis Huang, the goal was to create a device that users can see straight through the entire unit.

The console weighs 50g and charges via USB-C. It does not include Wi-Fi or an app store, focusing on a simple power-on-and-play experience.

The retail price of the Arduview will be $100. Early access participants can reserve a unit for $5, securing a 'founder price' of $49. Hardware delivery for Kickstarter backers will take place in 2027.
