Aratas America, a former division of Omron Electronic Components, has introduced the G3VH series of silicon carbide MOSFET relays. These components are designed to handle load voltages of 1,800 V or 3,300 V, offering a dielectric strength of 5,000 Vrms between input and output.

The product line includes six variants, categorized into the 1,800 V G3VH-181 and the 3,300 V G3VH-331 models. They are available in both PCB-terminal and surface-mount six-pin DIP packages. The use of silicon carbide allows for a thinner drift region, which helps in blocking high voltages.

The G3VH relays operate without mechanical contacts, eliminating issues like arcing, wear, and contact bounce. According to the manufacturer, the design features low ON resistance and low leakage current, which contribute to reduced heat generation and lower power loss during operation.

Aratas highlights that the compact footprint of the relays supports equipment miniaturization. The company targets applications such as battery management systems, semiconductor test equipment, and various measuring instruments, noting improvements in inspection times and measurement accuracy.
