Apple has introduced the fourth-generation Siri Remote alongside its latest Apple TV 4K. Priced at $59, the new remote maintains the familiar aluminum design and button layout of its predecessor while focusing on functional improvements.
The primary update is the integration of the Find My network and Precision Finding capabilities. Users can now locate a misplaced remote using a compatible iPhone. The device also features a built-in speaker that emits a sound to assist in retrieval.
Precision Finding requires specific hardware, including iPhone Duo, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, and iPhone 17 Pro models. Beyond these location features, the remote can connect to Mac computers, though functionality remains limited without additional software.
Apple has ensured broad compatibility for the new remote. It works with all previous generations of Apple TV 4K, as well as the Apple TV HD. Existing users can purchase the remote separately for $59 to access these new features without replacing their current set-top box.
