Apple has released the AirPods 5, which maintain the design and acoustic architecture of the previous generation. The new model features improved IP57 water resistance, allowing for brief submersion in water, and enhanced active noise cancellation, which the manufacturer claims is 50% more effective.
The lineup includes two versions: a standard model and a premium version that adds a wireless charging case, touch controls on the stem, and a larger battery. In Russia, the base model is priced at approximately 17 000 ₽, while the advanced version costs around 20 000 ₽.
The earbuds support gesture controls, including head movements for call management and volume adjustment via the touch panel. They integrate with iOS 27 for advanced settings, such as adaptive noise control and transparency modes. Features like Siri AI and Live Translation are available, though they have limited functionality in Russia.
The device uses a USB Type-C port for charging and includes a speaker in the case for location tracking via the Find My app. While the hardware remains largely unchanged from the AirPods 4, software tuning has shifted the sound profile toward lower frequencies, providing a more pronounced bass response.
