Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 12, featuring a new S11 chip and upgraded health sensors. The smartwatch starts at ¥2,999, with pre-orders open now and retail availability starting September 18.

The S11 chip enables more frequent heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring, with HRV measurements increasing up to 24 times. A new 'Body Readiness Index' scores physical condition from 0 to 10 based on fitness records, training load, and sleep quality.

The device includes sound recognition for hearing-impaired users, which detects sirens, alarms, and baby cries without requiring an iPhone. It also features a new one-handed double-tap gesture to navigate widgets and a dynamic app grid with Siri recommendations.

Battery life remains at 24 hours for daily use, while outdoor workout tracking lasts up to 10 hours, representing a 25% increase over the previous generation. The pedometer model has been redesigned using machine learning and the S11 chip for higher accuracy.

The watch comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes. Aluminum cases are available in Space Gray, Deep Bronze, Black, and Gold. Titanium cases come in Natural and Gold, while a new ceramic case is introduced in Pearl White and Navy Blue.

The Series 12 is made from 40% recycled materials, including 100% recycled aluminum and titanium. Manufacturing is powered by 100% renewable energy, and the packaging is entirely fiber-based.
